Terry is participating in the 2009 Bicycle Trek for Life and Breath!

Please join Terry for a 200 km bicycle ride through the Fraser Valley this coming September 12-13. We will provide discounted training in the studio plus weekly rides for everyone who joins. We have more than 6 months to prepare, so anyone of any fitness level can be ready.

Many of you joined me a few years ago as we raised more than $8,000 for the Relay for Life and we all had a great time. The fundraiser for the British Columbia Lung Association only requires us to raise $425 each. This is not difficult and I would expect that many of us will raise far more.

The additional benefits of this venture include improved fitness levels and the opportunity to socialize with a group of like-minded friends. We will begin providing in-studio training and outdoor rides as soon as we have a team of 10 formed.

The New Day Exercise of the Month

New Day Training wants to show everyone at home some of our favourite

and most effective exercises.

The exercise of the month for July is the Y-T-W scapulation sequence using the TRX.

 

1. "Y" - Feet are several inches closer to the anchor than the body.

Grasp the handles with palms down.

Raise hands directly overhead with straight arms. Do not elevate shoulder blades together.

2. "T" - Same as "Y" but palms face away from each other and arms spread to a "T" position at shoulder height.

3. "W" - Palms face each other, arms are placed at 90 degrees from the shoulder and elbows

are bent to 90 degrees. Open ams from the shoulder, maintaining 90 degrees t the elbow.

Squeeze shoulder blades together and down.

Repeat all exercises 8 times and do 2 -3 sets
